• FOR SOIL MANAGEMENT TO BE SUSTAINABLE:

  –  it must combine technology, policies and activities,

  – it must adopt a holistic approach, integrating both socio-economic and
    environmental principles.

• THE JOINT OBJECTIVES ARE:

  – to maintain and increase production and use in order to meet society’s demand
    for food,

  – to reduce threats to food products and thereby guarantee food quality,

  – to protect the quality of natural resources,

  – to prevent soil degradation and maintain water quality,

  – to ensure economic viability,

  – to adopt a socially acceptable development model.
