SOIL CONSOCIATION

A map unit dominated by a soil class with permissible inclusions of dissimilar soils. These inclusions are of a similar soil type and represent less than 10% of the total.
The dominant soil class occupies from 50 % to 75% of the area and is the soil used to denominate the map unit.
The most important interpretations are not significantly affected by inclusions of similar soils within the same map unit.
Inclusions of dissimilar soils (with different responses) will generally account for no more than 10 % of the area, if they are very different. Even so, it is possible for the number of dissimilar inclusions in a given map unit delineation to exceed 10 % if no practical advantage would be obtained by defining a new map unit.
